Solar Eclipses are an extremely rare phenomenon and as a brand named SunChips, we needed to be a part of this conversation. And as a brand with 0% unaided brand awareness, there was no better way to quickly become top of mind with our consumers. However, the Solar Eclipse isn’t actually about the Sun. It’s about the Moon stealing the spotlight. So, we crashed the Eclipse and didn’t let the Moon steal any of our beloved sunshine. We plowed wheat fields to send messages to the moon. We got consumers excited about the universe’s most limited time offer ever - a flavor that would ONLY be available during the 4 minutes and 27 seconds of totality. We even partnered with celebrity astronaut Kellie Gerardi and Delta Airlines to spread the word.
